Using Headings and Subheadings to Improve your SEO

There are many small things you can do to boost your SEO ratings. We have talked about using descriptive headings to improve user experience, but did you know that when properly constructed, these headings (and subheadings) can help with your searchability? Consider what your users might be inputting when looking for products and services in your category. A well placed heading, and where appropriate / useful, a descriptive subheading can work in everyone's favour. For example, take the generic "Services" menu item. If you were a computer store, are people more likely to search for "computer store services" or "computer repair"? We're thinking, "computer repair". So not only does changing your item from "services" to "computer repair & IT services" make the item more descriptive for your users, but it improves the searchability of the page. If it is appropriate, you can also add a short, descriptive sentence underneath with more keywords and phrases. Still need a little help? We can do that!
